THERAPY QUESTIONS
+ What is psychotherapy?
Psychotherapy, also sometimes called 'Talk Therapy' is the process of treating psychological concerns through communication and relationship factors with a trained mental health professional.
+ Do you prescribe medication?
We are not medical doctors and therefore cannot prescribe medications. However, we can help you navigate this process and refer you to someone in our trusted network of referrals.
+ How do I know I need to see a therapist?
If you are motivated to make changes in your life, achieve personal growth, or develope deeper insight, then seeing a therapist can be very beneficial. You do not need to be experiencing a “mental illness” or “psychological problems” to see a therapist.
+ Do you offer online therapy?
Yes.
Currently, only Kelly Borghi offers online video sessions. Skip Borghi does not offer online video sessions at this time.
Please note: Your insurance plan may not cover online video sessions. Please check your insurance benefits to see if your plan covers online therapy.
+ I don’t live in Illinois, can I still do online therapy with you?
We are not able to provide therapy services to individuals outside of Illinois.
+ Is what I share in therapy really confidential?
Yes, what you share in therapy is confidential thanks to HIPAA. However, there are a few exceptions - 1) immediate threat of harm to self or other, 2) suspicion of child or dependent elder abuse, 3) in the case of a court subpoena. We will discuss all of this in detail during your first session.

+ How do I schedule an appointment?
To schedule an appointment, you can:

+ Can I reschedule or cancel my appointment?
You can reschedule or cancel your appointment by contacting us by phone or email with 24 hours advance notice.
You may be charged a cancelation fee if you do not provide at least 24 hours notice.
+ How long is a therapy session?
Sessions are between 45-60 minutes.
+ How often will we meet?
If you are new, we usually recommend coming in on a weekly basis until we have established a solid plan.

+ Do you accept insurance?
We accept most major insurance plans, including the following:

+ How do I know if my insurance plan covers therapy?
We can check your insurance benefits for you and find out.
If you would like us to verify your benefits for you:
- Fill out our Insurance Verification Form
OR - Send us an email with a copy/picture of the front and back of your insurance card and drivers license.

+ What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, check, and most major credit cards.

SimplePractice, LLC is my practice management software for scheduling, case management, Telehealth, and therapy notes. SimplePractice, LLC, uses a HIPAA compliant software so your information will be securely kept.
